Today, I am thankful for this view that comes after the storm. It reminds me that something good always comes from difficult times - if you're willing to recognize it.
On Easter 2011, I was trying to get my house in order. As I thumbed through an old edition of "Better Homes & Gardens", I saw a cute little journal. It was designed to make you record one small observation per day. Instead of buying the $20 book of lined paper, I decided to start this blog. I'm hoping this will make me more cognizant of the little things in my life.

My shedding cuddle monster.
Today, I am thankful for this furry little face. Matilda forces me to show love and affection, first thing every morning, regardless of how I feel. She requires me go outside twice a day and enjoy the beautiful scenery that I would otherwise miss. She makes me laugh daily. I am so thankful that she is a part of my life.

Payday
As I sit here realizing that I don't have enough money to pay all the bills due before the next payday, I have to be thankful that I have a job at all.

The strut
Today, I am thankful for that inexplicable thing that happens to me on the inside when I put on a pair of heels. There's an extra boost of confidence that comes with a feminine edge when I don a pair of heels, especially when I'm at work. It makes my courtroom strut that much more powerful. It carries over while strolling through the grocery store. It lasts even after I take off the heels, put on the sneakers, and walk the dog. Thank you for whatever it is that happens when I put on a pair of heels. :)

Made the short walk longer.
Today, I'm thankful for the wind that cooled things off enough for Matilda and I to take a long walk this evening. The heat got to her yesterday and she almost fell out. Today, because of the wind, she was able to run around for awhile.

Easter
I am thankful that God sent his son, Jesus, to earth. I am thankful that He chose to die to save me from my sins. I am thankful that on the third day, He arose and ascended to heaven and sits on the right hand of God, the Father Almighty.
